Designed to protect the steering rack from dirt and moisture, exposure to the elements over time causes the rubber to turn brittle, and thus cracking and/or splitting. While the OEM boots from the factory were very robust, preemptive maintenance of the steering rack boots is highly recommended. Any cracks, leaks, splits or tears may result in the loss of grease, which in turn may reduce the lifespan of the steering rack itself.
Prone to perishing with age, the nylon bush - located within the nearside steering rack, requires removal of the boot to replace, providing a good to time to thoroughly inspect for wear. Tested for longevity, our heavy duty steering rack boots suit all models. Developed and Made in Japan.
