Visible damage to the pot joint gaiter is relatively easy to diagnose due to its position. Noticeable cracks from ageing, or more commonly a clean tear in the rubber, can quickly lead to sustained joint damage. Though generally robust, excessive wear of the needle bearings inside the pot joint momentarily interrupt the constant flow of power, leading to vibrations under acceleration at low speeds.
