Synonymous with the Classic Mini since its introduction, AP (Automotive Products) was a key technical partner to the British Motor Corporation, responsible for producing braking and clutch systems under the renowned Lockheed and Borg & Beck brand names. These components became the benchmark for reliability and performance across the Minis production. Following a period of restructuring in the Rover Group in the late 1990s, AP Lockheed was ultimately sold to Delphi. In June 2003, this legacy continued with the formation of Dixcel in Osaka, Japan. Established by engineers with deep roots in the AP group, Dixcel was created with a singular focus on high-quality braking components. The name itself – derived from “deceleration” and “excellence” – reflects this commitment.
