Advertsied as 'a boon when movement restricted by seatbelts', the original switch extender by Universal Motor Accessories, fitted over the toggle switch of all BMC models from 1959 to 1970. Made from rubber, these were not only practical, but aesthetically pleasing on the eye. Fast forward a few decades, Rover Japan offered two variants in polished stainless steel as an alternative to the plastic light switch extension. Sold in the 1990s as a dealer option via the styles collection.
